Women's Economic
Empowerment & Literacy
Delta Iota Zeta partners with Cachelle International for the Go Girl Grow
financial literacy and microloan scholarship program.
Launched in March 2022, the Women's Financial Literacy, Microloan and Scholarship Program operationalized the Delta Iota Zeta Women's Economic Empowerment & Literacy Programmatic Thrust. Designed with a two prong approach of education and financing, it ensures women selected are given practical methods of improving their economic position.
Cachelle International's Go Girl Grow program was selected as our strategic partner as they currently provide literacy training to Liberian women. Delta Iota Zeta has enhanced their reading literacy training with a financial literacy component. Selected women receive micro loans to grow their small businesses and scholarships to attend vocational skills training programs
The micro loans are provided directly to women following their training. These loans are repaid according to a repayment agreement signed with the chapter. This approach makes capital available to women who otherwise would not be able to gain access traditional loans. It also brings the financial literacy training they receive to life - moving from theory to practice.
